The Garden

The Brant/Brantford Community Garden Project has undergone a change in direction since 2009. A new Project Manager, Sarah Gill from Grand River Community Health Centre, will be working with a new Advisory Committee to help the project with sustainable growth and organizational development.
The community will have the opportunity to take the leadership in establishing, running and sustaining gardens in Brant, Brantford and Six Nations in 2010 and the future.

The Brant/Brantford Community Garden Project will act as a resource, funding allocator, tool-kit developer and consultant for community/neighbourhood garden sites.
Community gardens will be volunteer led and managed at the local level to encourage sustainability and community capacity building.
The Brant/Brantford Community Garden Project would be made up of a network of community gardens and will work with the municipality and community organizations to manage the success of these sites.

New Developments

A community garden open to the public will be supported by the Project at Friendship House at 452 Grey Street, Brantford. Plots will be available for the general public as well as community organizations or businesses that are interested in sponsoring a plot. More information coming soon!

Princess Elizabeth School has also begun development on a community garden that will be created and maintained by their students. They are looking for help during the summer months when the students are on break.
